Derry Ainsworth wins award for photo 'Legoland' at My China Story International Media Competition

Derry Ainsworth wins the Outstanding Work Award for his Hong Kong photograph titled 'Legoland.' Derry received the award at the 2023 'My China Story of the Greater Bay Area International Media Competition.'
On June 2, the "Third Eye on China · Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area" International Multimedia Competition Award Ceremony was held in Zhongshan, Guangdong Province. A total of 28,217 works were collected, covering more than 40 countries and regions on five continents. After more than 20 Chinese and foreign professional judges in the fields of media, film and television, internet, international spread, etc. Selected by Hong Kong Cable Television, Derry Ainsworth's photograph "Legoland" won the "outstanding works award" in the photography category.
About the artwork 'Legoland' An aerial view over the densely populated district of Sham Shui Po in Kowloon, Hong Kong. The Shot capture the vibrant colours of the old buildings, stacked up next to eachother. The angle and framing help to highlight the unique density of the area. About the Competition The series of activities are supported by the Information Office of Guangdong Provincial People's Government and Zhongshan Municipal People's Government, and undertaken by the Information Office of Zhongshan Municipal People's Government, Zhongshan Internet Information Office, International Communication Center of Nanfang Media Group and Xufang International Media of China Foreign Languages Bureau. "My China Story" International Short Video Competition, initiated by CICG in 2018, and has been successfully held for five years. The annual competition aims to encourage domestic and international content creators, foreign vloggers, self-media teams and individuals to create multilingual China-themed short videos from their unique perspectives and document foreigners' wonderful experiences in China. Videos that tell creators' stories with China or present cultural exchanges between China and other countries from a third-party perspective are also welcome. After five years of development, "My China Story" has become a well-known international communication event integrating multilingual short video creation, topic-of-the-year competitions, special topic competitions, new media international communication seminars, and theme exhibitions. It aims to build the most authoritative brand of the "China in the Lens of Foreigners" activity, create the most open exchange platform for global creators, and facilitate the widest cooperation among creators and platforms.
